The 800th anniversary of St Peters Church dominated the year. As part of their celebrations the Society organised three excellent and popular talks in the church, including by Julian Hunt and Christopher Green. May also saw the installation of a short 10 minute film about the heritage of St Peter’s, assembled and organised with great skill by James Moir. This was played on a loop in the south transept, and the church found this, and the Society’s large pop-up banners, so popular that it requested the film remain all year.
For future historians to enjoy, a separate video was made recording some of the “once-in-history” 800th celebratory events during 2022, and we thank retired local filmmaker Barney Greenwood for his skilled production. It is now available to view here.
